She especially enjoyed educating and interacting with children. He continued to show his mechanical prowess when neighbors, friends, and family would ask for his assistance in repairing their lawnmowers which became an interest until he also retired from that in 2019. Alta was a life-long resident of Greenfield, born on January 22, 1930. He was married to the love of his life, the former Barbara Chamberlain on January 14, 1967. Thankfully, he was never called upon to fulfill his mission which was the delivery of nuclear weapons. Karen was raised in Bernardston graduating from Pioneer Valley Regional School in 1968 and from Westbrook Junior College in 1970.
